Why would anyone do something like this?!
In short, to feel better! Or in some cases, to explore a different way of eating and learning about yourself. And as humans in a modern world, we have increasing environmental exposure to toxic substances. Yes, your body has a detoxification system built to eliminate harmful substances. However, this system can become taxed and sluggish over time. Many eastern healing practices like Ayuveda and Traditional Chinese Medicine participate in detox rituals and ceremonies to help support the body in finding balance. Functional Medicine doctors in the U.S. also believe that there’s many benefits to supporting your liver, kidney, and lymph system with a targeted protocol of nutrient dense whole foods, supplements, and lifestyle practices.
We personally also believe in the benefits of this program as we have practiced and experienced them ourselves. Not all detoxes are the same. We have found many to be too restrictive or just plain ineffective. We do this program again and again because of it’s doable nature and for the real benefits we and our clients have experienced. It’s also not for everyone and that’s okay.

What can I expect if I sign-up for detox?
The program is organized into four different weeks. Each week is a little different. Week’s 1 and 4 are the most flexible. We do take breaks from certain foods and substances but the plan involves eating full meals and smoothies. (You may be bored but you should not be starving!) You are welcome to nourish your body anytime hunger strikes.

There is also room to modify your program to your needs. Just ask us and we can help you customize your plan.

Generally we believe less is more when it comes to supplements. However, like spring cleaning or the changes of the season, we love a tailored protocol to support everything that needs supporting. What else should I know?
The food: We will eat! This is NOT a juice cleanse or a diet! There will be some breaks from certain foods with a new varied phase each week. We will take a break from caffeine, alcohol, wheat, beef, pork, dairy, and added sugar. We will reduce nuts/seeds, eggs, and legumes but they are included. We will focus on consuming mostly veggies, fruit, chicken, fish, starchy veggies, rice and high quality fats.
You will get weekly sample meal plans with lots of recipe ideas. A grocery list will be sent to you before the program starts so you will be set up for success.
Everything is online! You’ll get the plans, videos and group chat through a secure portal. Do it all on your own time from anywhere in the US (for shipping purposes).

Okay but How is this Not a Diet?
We’re glad you asked. What are “Anti-Diet” practitioners doing offering something called a “detox?” We did a full podcast episode on this called, “Are Cleanses and Detoxes Part of Diet Culture?” We strongly suggest you give it a listen. While this is a different way of eating for a limited amount of time, the intention is not for weight loss. We guide you into the process slowly and we’ll guide you back out into the real world too. You don’t have to adhere to it at 100% to get benefits. It’s not about perfection but deciding to show up for yourself in a different way that can feel real good when done with a healthy mind-set. This is NOT for everyone and we suggest speaking with us prior to signing up to see if this is right for you.
