What Does Plant-Based Mean?

Plant-based means more vegetables for all.

Adopting a plant-based lifestyle isn't just for vegetarians and vegans. Omnivores should also live that plant-based life.

Beth and I are omnivores that love the hell out of vegetables and aim to eat eight cups of them every damn day.

Everyone should eat an abundance of vegetables and plant foods. That means the "base" of what you eat is mostly vegetables. If you're vegan, paleo, keto, or anyone in between it is important to include a variety of nutrient rich vegetables.

When it comes to additional plant foods like starchy vegetables, whole grains, nuts, legumes and fruit it's important to learn which combinations and quantities works for your unique body, condition, and goals. We give our clients a customized prescription for these.

Did you know that Beth and I attended a plant-based culinary school? This is where we learned how to apply food as medicine. We learned Ayurveda, Macrobiotics, and other modalities that are predominantly plant-based healing cuisines.

We draw on our experience with these modalities and combine them with the principals of functional medicine and eating psychology to serve our clients in weight loss and reducing symptoms related to gut health/IBS.
